The Top Beauty Products on Amazon During Q2 2018
One Click Retail recently released two reports on Amazon's Q2 sales for the Health & Personal Care (HPC) and Beauty categories in the U.S. and U.K. markets.
The U.S. HPC & Beauty Report for Q2 2018
The U.S. HPC & Beauty report state that both categories saw sales reach nearly $2 billion, a 30% increase compared to the same period in 2017.
One Click Retail explained that Q2 2018 saw "notable changes" in consumer habits and attributes them to seasonal influence, e.g., summer skin care products. According to the report, in Q1 2018, solar protection made up about 9% of the mass skin care category; in Q2, that proportion doubled to 18% and sunscreens entered the top product spots. Thinkbaby Safe Sunscreen was reportedly the #5 beauty item of Q2.

The U.K. HPC & Beauty Report for Q2 2018
The U.K. report states that both categories generated an estimated £130 million in sales, an increase of around 40% compared to the same period in 2017.
Much like the U.S. market, Amazon.co.uk's HPC and Beauty categories saw seasonally-influenced changes due to summer skin products. However, the report also found that these changes "suggest a long-term shift in how people shop, such as Amazon’s growing share of the Beauty market."
