Omya Releases Functional Mineral Worldwide

Omya announced that its Omyaskin mineral compositions (INCI: Hydroxya­patite Calcium Carbonate) are now available for worldwide distribution, following the ingredient’s debut at in-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam.

The functional ingredient can be used in place of kaolin and talc, and improves the performance of titanium dioxide. It is recommended for cosmetic applications including foundations, compact powders, lipsticks and BB, CC and DD creams.

According to the company, the mineral ingredient offers a large surface area and high porosity, allowing it to absorb sebum and reduce drying time to produce a matte finish. The company recommends adding 1–10% Omyaskin to in order to enhance the compress­ibility and smoothness of products.
